Dog Boarding FAQs
What vaccinations are required for dog boarding at Maui Dog Resort?
For the health and safety of every guest, all boarding dogs must be up to date on their Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHPP), and Bordetella (Canine Cough) vaccines. We also highly recommend the Canine Influenza (CIV) vaccine. Owners must submit proof of vaccination before their dog’s stay to ensure a clean, healthy resort environment.
What should I bring for my dog's boarding stay?
We encourage owners to bring their dog’s regular food, treats, and any medications in clearly labeled containers. You may also include a favorite toy or small blanket for comfort. Bowls are provided in every Pup Bungalow, so there’s no need to pack them.
Is someone with the dogs overnight?
Yes! Maui Dog Resort provides 24/7 on-site care, ensuring that no dog is ever left alone. Our professional, Pet CPR-certified staff monitors all guests throughout the night for safety and comfort, creating an actual home-away-from-home experience.
How are dogs grouped or supervised during their stay?
During playtime or enrichment activities, dogs are carefully grouped by size, temperament, and play style. Our experienced team maintains a low dog-to-staff ratio, ensuring personalized attention, structured fun, and gentle supervision at all times.
Can I get updates while my dog is boarding?
Absolutely! We send “Online Postcards from Paradise” – themed photo updates and messages that capture your dog’s stay at the resort. You’ll see their adventures, rest time, and happy moments delivered right to your phone.
How do meal times work at Maui Dog Resort?
We know that maintaining your dog’s home routine helps them feel secure. That’s why we serve owner-provided meals on your schedule, or you can choose from our premium resort food options.
Our staff is experienced in handling special diets and sensitivities with precision and care. Every guest’s needs are met with compassion, patience, and attention to detail.
Dog Daycare FAQs
Which vaccinations are required for dog daycare at Maui Dog Resort?
All daycare guests must be current on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHPP), and Bordetella (Canine Cough) vaccines. The Canine Influenza vaccine is strongly recommended. Vaccination records are required before attending your dog’s first day of play.
How is Maui Dog Resort's daycare different from traditional dog daycare?
Our dog daycare program is built around enrichment, balance, and individual attention, not just open play. Each dog enjoys a customized schedule that includes exercise, mental stimulation, recharge breaks, and small-group socials when appropriate – all supervised by trained canine specialists.
What is a Meet & Greet Day, and why is it required?
Before joining daycare, every dog participates in a Meet & Greet Day — a personalized evaluation that assesses temperament, play preferences, and comfort level. This helps us ensure that each dog is placed in the most suitable activities for their personality and well-being.
How do you ensure safety during playtime?
Our daycare areas are divided into indoor and outdoor zones, allowing dogs to play safely in supervised, climate-controlled environments. With a low dog-to-staff ratio, continuous monitoring, and sanitized play yards, every dog enjoys a safe, happy experience.
Will my dog get recharge breaks during the day?
Definitely, Rest is an essential part of our daycare philosophy. Between play sessions, dogs unwind in quiet, climate-controlled Pup Bungalows to recharge. This balanced approach prevents overstimulation while keeping your dog happy, healthy, and stress-free.
